PARADISE building
A New Symbol for the City Standing Beside Bansui Bridge
A striking piece of architecture is planned for the side of Bansui Bridge over the Nakagawa River. Aiming to become a new landmark beloved by the locals in this familiar place, this multi-purpose complex features a design reminiscent of the Tower of Babel.
While the initial plan envisioned a grand scale, adjustments were made due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in a more compact structure. However, the core design principle of maximizing the beautiful view from Bansui Bridge remains unchanged, and the tower’s image is preserved. The site plan also considers future expansion with a phased construction approach, allowing for gradual development.
The building will house a multipurpose hall on the first floor, freely accessible to the local community; a café serving aromatic coffee and a barista training school on the second floor; and functional office spaces on the third and fourth floors.
Notably, the intentional variation in the height of each floor creates an impressive overall height of nearly 20 meters. Although only four stories tall, this verticality evokes the Tower of Babel, adding a new dimension to the city’s landscape.
This architecture aims to be more than just a building; it aspires to become a hub for community interaction and a cherished symbol of the city for years to come.
