couture maison Hisako Takayama
This store is the originating point for the activities of wedding dress designer Hisako Takayama Weddings can be considered one of the most important events in a woman’s life, a time when she can immerse herself in the extraordinary Cinderella-like world for just one day. In line with this concept, it goes without saying that the space where the dresses are created should also an extraordinary space.
The focus of this design was on its function as a bridge between the ordinary and the extraordinary. Entering the store, one leaves the world of the mundane as they approach the reception desk from where the dresses can be seen—one enters along the soft arc of the wall, and onto the “bridge” immersed in light. Guided by the resplendency of the lights ahead, as the customer passes through bridge, a sense of anticipation and thrill becomes heightened with each step. Beyond the bridge lies an extraordinary world.
The vision for this work was that as many brides as possible would be enfolded in the gowns of happiness created by Hisako Takayama.
